"HOPEFULLY we'll be able to roll out a few names in the next couple
of weeks,'' new St Pauls East Bentleigh coach Adam Shepard said two  weeks
ago.
He was true to his word.
The Doggies last week confirmed  they had signed former St Kilda and
Richmond onballer Steve Sziller, and regained Heath Barnes from Dingley and
Ben James from Devon Meadows.
Sziller is a terrific catch.
The bustling little right-footer brings to McKinnon Reserve the
experience of 156 games, 118 with the Saints and 38 with the Tigers.
He has spent the past three years with East Burwood  in the Eastern
league. Shepard noted that the smaller grounds and the less  hectic pace of
the Southern league would suit the 33-year-old.
"He's still  very fit. This shows you how professional he is: he
started his own training three weeks ago. He's still as fit as a fiddle,''
Shepard said.
"He'll be  a great role model for our younger players. He won't have
an official  leadership role -- he didn't want one -- but the way he goes
about his footy  will make him a leader.''
Barnes has agreed to return to St Paul's East  Bentleigh despite his
father Dave winning the senior coaching position at  Dingley.
"We're not done yet,'' Shepard said of the Doggies'  recruiting
drive.
"We need a couple of bigger fellows to round it  out.''
